After finding a lump in her left breast Lori sought the medical expertise of an oncologist. Her lump was biopsied and a sample of the tissue was sent for examination.

Despite Michelle’s tumour’s small size, its cancer cells had spread through not one but throughout both of her breasts. She required immediate and urgent care.

My community rallied around me. My co-workers helped with meals, and even with Christmas. Emotional support came from on-line groups, a local support group and my family and friends.

I’m a proud mom to three beautiful daughters—ages 23, 9, and 7—and a doting grandma to my one-year-old grandson. My journey began in October 2023 when I discovered a lump in my left breast.

I was originally diagnosed with Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer (with no lymph node involvement) at the new age of 38.

When I was diagnosed with cancer,  I was told that I was "lucky", that my cancer was curable and treatable.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 59 years old. For the three years prior to my diagnosis, I had been building an arts-based business.

Late February, I had my mammogram which was the start of my world falling to pieces. One CT scan after another showed the cancer had spread to my chest, abdomen,
pelvis and spine.

In September 2024, I was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer with a 5 cm tumor deep in my right breast and chest wall. 

I received my breast cancer diagnosis in September 2023 after months of feeling that something wasn’t quite right.
