Join a food and wine pairing professional, Certified Sommelier

Krystina Roman as she virtually teaches a class to learn how to create one of the world’s best matches, wine and cheese. With over 10 years of experience in the wine industry and years of experience pairing wines for cheese courses at George On Queen, Krys will review how to sip wine ike a pro, uncover how to find your wine

style with recommendations and the basics of wine and cheese pairings. A great experience to learn about some of life’s simple pleasures.  

Krys is a Certified Sommelier based in the Toronto area with over 10 years of experience in the food and wine industry. Her wine journey started in 2006 hand sorting grapes for local Niagara winery and she hasn’t looked back. After years in the local Ontario winery scene, she completed her WSET 3 + Certified Sommelier certification and embarked on a journey being a Floor Sommelier in Toronto restaurants. You can usually find her pairing wine with incredible tasting menus at George on Queen. Passionate about wine and the wine community she’s volunteered on many initiatives and teams and has worked across various businesses in the local wine scene.

Presenter Darren Overby is passionate about helping people, at any age, to understand their mind and to create the healthy, happy and prosperous life they were meant to live! He is the person behind Mind Muscle, a health and success mindset community and consulting business which provides tools, trainings and programs that exercise the mind like a muscle for strength, confidence and ease in achieving goals.  From his experience of being an educator for over 20 years in Canada and abroad, specializing in Health and Physical Education, co-authoring the Social Emotional Learning Guide with OWL Publishers, and studying from some of the world’s top thought leaders in human potential, like Bob Proctor, Darren knows that all our results that happen in life is a reflection of what happens in our mind.

We celebrated everything peachy including deliciously amazing food and fabulous live entertainment!Some of Toronto’s most generous philanthropists, celebrities, taste makers, cultural leaders and socially conscious individuals danced the night away.


The event was proudly hosted by The Thompson Hotel, along with creative co-chairs Canadian designer David Dixon and his brother, interior designer and television personality, Glenn Dixon who also served as the night’s master of ceremony.

 Guests enjoyed All Star entertainment from four time Juno winning recording artist, Simone Denny and Juno nominee Tyler Shaw, along with DJ sets by international DJ Mark Holmes also known for his work with award winning, Platinum Blonde. There was also a celebrity midnight set by Michael Jordan’s official DJ and OVO Bounce DJ Matthew Romeo who kept the room dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

All funds raised will support the Breast Cancer Support Fund, specifically breast cancer patients on their journey to wellness by directly providing much needed financial support.
